China suspends aid to Venezuela over Olympics Spat

BBC News

Tensions between China and Venezuela have risen as China announces it will cut their $50 billion aid to Venezuela for their housing projects due to the “insolence” of President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.

This “insolence” is likely a reference to his press releases that outright state that he believes that Maduro is “convinced that China has conspired to ruin the Olympics in Brazil” and his demands for a “formal apology from China for the incident”, in reference to the accidental shooting of Venezuela's top archer, Malavé.

We have yet to hear a response from the President of Venezuela on this turn of events.
