I am saddened by the loss of former German citizen and fencing athlete Thomas Bach. The only consolation is the knowledge that the International Olympic Committee will be much stronger and better managed without him. Germany calls for the removal of the 70-year age limit, and supports the promotion of Vice President Craig Reedie or soccer legend Pele as the new IOC President.
