It has been revealed from private communiques between the Rio Olympic Organizing Committee and the Coca-Cola Corporation that plans to construct a new olympic-sized swimming pool, to be filled entirely with Dasani Purified Drinking Water, is underway.
The corporate sponsorship route is obvious for the Coca-Cola Corporation, but why exactly the Rio Committee feels this is necessary, when the closing ceremonies are a few days away is puzzling.
Why would Rio put so much money into this new construction endeavor in order for their new facility to be filled with overpriced tap water? These question are difficult, but necessary to consider, when attempting to understand the bizzare actions of Coca-Cola during these Games.
