Press Release - Luiz Fernando Correa

The IOC is still shocked and appalled by the horrendous series of events that has occured at the Rio2016 Olympic Games. We attempted all preventative measures within our power in order to protect the game venues. We hired 85,000 security staff members as opposed to the London Olympic's mere 23,700. We had many of that staff trained by UNODC counter terrorism forcers, as well as INTERPOL counter terrorism task forces. We attempted to hire former TSA agents from the United States, we requested security help from the governments of Germany, the United Kingdom, and Russia and received some sort of aid from all three, we have hired hundreds of drug and bomb sniffing dogs in conjunction with the Brazilian government, as well as hired private defense contractors.
All of us on the IOC stand behind our president in his efforts to make these games a success. We are clearly dealing with a crafty group of individuals that were able to get through all of our defenses, and we implore the Brazilian government to do everything in its power to bring the perpetrators to justice
