Quote leaked of Angela Merkel: "Surely you of all people would understand the immense pride Germans have in our success in the Olympic Games! We are merely attempting to reestablish German dominance in the world. I hope you'll reconsider your decision. Perhaps a position in the German Federal Cabinet following the games would make your decision a little easier."

This indicated further proof that Germany unfortunately deserves to be suspended from the Games. The IOC does not condone violence and does not take bribes of any form under the Presidency of Thomas Bach.
