Press Release - Federative Republic of Brazil
The Federative Republic of Brazil is at a loss for words to describe the event that took place at our João Havelange Stadium. This is a true act of terror, and we assure every participant, spectator, and viewer that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice.
In light of this event, we must further express our desire to foster communication between the government of Brazil and the IOC. Since the beginning of this endeavor, our Security Secretary and the Director of Security of the IOC have only had two forms of contact, and we plead that the IOC respond to our requests for information.
Up to this point, all meetings that our government has requested with the IOC have not been answered, and we expect to hear from this committee that would rather move into the light only to criticize the Brazilian government, or to sell their products. Much to the dismay of the IOC, its long sleeve shirts have not been selling, meaning that there are gallons of pesticides in the hands of the IOC that have not been used--in the hands of the IOC, and in the Guanabara that is.
