The 107th Operation Battalion of the Venezuelan armed forces has entered Brazil with permission of the Temer administration, marking the first time in recent histroy Brazil has permitted foreign troops on its soil.
The move comes after the Brazilian government accepted aid in suppressing the ODP, a radical anti-administration political movement that has been labeled as a terrorist organization by both Brazil and Venezuela.
The troops have entered through the Santa Elena de Uairen border crossing, and will take some time to enter Rio de Janeiro.
The 107th Operation Battalion is one of the most well trained parts of the Venezuelan armed forces.
