The Ordem do Progresso expresses solidarity with the residents of Rio's favelas. These innocent citizens have been harassed by the state for too long, despite being honest, law-abiding Brazilians. Their only crime was to organize their own communities without the permission of the wealthy development interests that trample on ordinary people to get rich on fancy stores and trains to rich neighborhoods.
The ODP will always stand with the least fortunate among us. We call upon those who live in the favelas to join us in standing up for their rights by peacefully taking to the streets in Ipanema with the rest of this people's uprising.
