Press Release - Luiz Fernando Correa

In light of concerns regarding the drug trafficking and general safety of the venues of the Rio2016 Olympics, we, the IOC in part with the Federative Republic of Brazil, would like to assure all guests of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paraolympic games of their safety. The event is being monitored by 85,000 soldiers, police, and specialized canine units. We are also awaiting responses from both Germany, Great Britain, and other corporate sponsors for additional security measures. We stress, once again, that the safety of all attendees is a top priority, and we hope that everyone will enjoy the 2016 Olympic Games.
