Press Release - Chief Commercial Officer

In response to a recent Press Release by leftist government officials of Brazil:

The IOC would like to remind the Brazilian Government that they submitted their application in 2008, beat out 6 other qualified cities (rightfully) to win the bid in 2009 and be the first city in South America to host the Games. We are very proud of how the Olympics have gone thus far and are happy to share the beauty of this amazing city with the Olympic spectators from around the world.

The Brazilian government has already spent upwards of 14.4 billion USD and the most probable way to earn back that money and gain the projected 10 billion back into the economy (to help Brazilians of all economic levels) is to continue with the Games and allow the spectators from other countries to continue on through the new subway system and inject more money into the Brazilian economy. The IOC is a promoter of economic equity and has little to do with how the government of Brazil has decided to relocate their economically suffering citizens, or how the subways systems have been created.

We hope that bipartisan efforts to continue to support these collaborative Games. The IOC has done absolutely everything in it's power to help aid against security, health, and economic threats and is continuing to further these efforts (which has been evident in previous press releases). We would encourage the Brazilian government to aid in helping this fight against terrorism, rather than worry their citizens by posting about threats, and having intra-party conflicts.
